Amy Caron: Waves of Mu

Amy Caron: Waves of Mu

March 7–March 23, 2008
In WAVES OF MU, Utah-based, native Vermonter Amy Caron braves new territory in multidisciplinary art. Created in collaboration with renowned neuroscientists and named for the electromagnetic oscillations that reflect mirror neuron activity in the brain. WAVES OF MU is a combination of visual and performance art. Through installation,
theatre, video and movement, Caron guides the audience along a constant traverse between the brain and behavior interfaces—a journey that reveals new knowledge about the composition of our brains and its effect on our social interconnectivity. When Caron assumes the role of scientist, the result is insightful and challenging of conventions.
By re-invigorating the natural relationship between art and science, Caron successfully infuses her work with a contemporary sensibility while stimulating public interest in modern neuroscience.

As part of this exhibition, Amy Caron will be holding ten evening performances throughout the month of March.
