Our classes and workshops offer an array of clay and craft experiences in such mediums as hand building, wheel throwing, sculpture, silversmithing, fiber arts and more. Our large, sunny studio has three classrooms, 14 pottery wheels, three kilns, a slab roller, extruder and a wide variety of hand tools to enhance your project design. There are also more than 100 glaze combinations available to complete your ceramic work. We offer extensive open studio hours for those who choose to pursue clay through our many classes. Our studio use is also available for monthly rental for those that wish to explore their art at their leisure. Children’s classes and family activities are available year round.

Monthly studio rentals offer more than 20 hours of studio use during weekdays, evenings and weekends, and includes glazes and kiln firings. Clay sold separately for $20/25lb bag.

Campers will look at a variety of illustrators and drawing styles and will learn how to incorporate special design elements in their own work. Campers will learn basic sewing techniques and will use simple patterns to cut and create their own dolls out of various sewing materials, including cottons, rickrack, yarns, ribbons, buttons, puffy fabric paints and more. Using a variety of materials such as recycled objects, fibers, foil, air-dry clay, and paint, campers will become mini sculptors and use their wildest imaginations to create a variety of dynamic 3-D sculptures. Learn some basic design and mosaic glass techniques including tile preparation and grout mixing. Campers will be encouraged to use a variety of colors and textures in their work and will learn how to cut glass safely. BCA/ FlynnArts present: Costumes and Customs from Around the World!

Fill up your passport and travel the globe exploring wonderful cultural traditions from distant lands! Mornings are spent at the Flynn, where our world travelers learn fun regional traditions and dances. Then we head to BCA’s Firehouse Center, where kids create batiks, headdresses, and masks from the same cultures. At week’s end family and friends will enjoy our fully costumed, multi-cultural performance!
This special partner camp is led by teaching artists from BCA and the Flynn Center. Burlington City Arts will provide supervision during lunch and campers will be escorted between the two organizations. Please call the Flynn directly at (802) 652-4537 to register for this camp, and note that the Flynn offers After-Care Supervision until 5pm for $15 a day.

BCA/ FlynnArts present: Where the Wild Things Are

Tumble away through night and day or an artsy adventure with mischievous Max! At the Firehouse, campers design their own whimsical cartoons, illustrations, and stories, inspired by Maurice Sendak’s beloved wild things. These fanciful creatures come to life at the Flynn through colorful puppets, wild masks, costumes, and drama as we create a special wild rumpus to share with family and friends on Friday!
This special partner camp is led by teaching artists from BCA and the Flynn Center. Burlington City Arts will provide supervision during lunch and campers will be escorted between the two organizations. Please call the Flynn directly at (802) 652-4537 to register for this camp, and note that the Flynn offers After-Care Supervision until 5pm for $15 a day.
