Printmaking Classes for Adults
BEGINNING SILKSCREENING
- Tuesday, July 8–August 12, 7-9pm
- Design and print posters, t-shirts, make fine art prints and more! Students will be exposed to a variety of techniques for transferring and printing images using hand drawn, photographic or borrowed imagery. Learn how to apply photo emulsion, how to use a silkscreen exposure unit, and experience mixing and printing images with water-based inks. (Class Code: 821320-1)

see mapDescription: Located at 250 Main Street in Memorial Auditorium, the Print Studio offers seasonal classes in printmaking and book arts ranging from introductory courses to master workshops, all taught by experienced artists. The spacious studio includes a 30 x 48” Takach etching press, a Vandercook SP15 proofing press, large work tables, ample storage space, inks, solvents, and a variety of materials available on site. Studio 250 is equipped for relief and intaglio printmaking (including etching), as well as letterpress and monotype, and offers extensive open studio hours at affordable rates for seasoned printmakers as well as beginning students.

- $50/two-day or weekend
- $100/month
- $250/three months
- $900/one year rate
Includes unlimited access to open studio hours.

WHAT IS PRINTMAKING?
- Wednesday, July 9–August 20, 6-9pm
- In this seven-week class, students will be introduced to a whole variety of printmaking techniques, including demonstrations of intaglio, monoprinting, relief, paper litho, and stenciling. Students will be encouraged to experiment and combine techniques. Problem solving and creative interaction will be encouraged through short class discussions. Beginners to advanced printmakers are welcome!(Class Code: 821321-1)

NEW! ADVANCED SILKSCREENING
- Mondays July 14-August 11, 5-7:30pm
- In this five-week class, students will learn how to use complex color combinations to make multi-layered fine art prints. This class will move beyond the basics and into the realm of silk-screen as a fine art medium. Students are required to have some working knowledge of the screen-printing process. Book Arts Guild
