Silkscreening I

Mondays, February 8–March 29 (no class 2/15), 6-8:30pm

Learn to design and print posters, t-shirts, fine art prints and more! Students will be exposed to a variety of techniques for transferring and printing images using hand-drawn, photographic or borrowed imagery. Learn how to apply photo emulsion, how to use a silkscreen exposure unit and how to mix and print images with water-based inks. Material list will be provided, some materials included. Woodblock and Linoleum Printing

Tuesday, February 9– March 23, 6-8:30pm
Limit: 10
This seven-week class will cover all aspects of woodblock and lino printing. Learn how to register, layer, and add color to your handmade prints. This is a great technique for card making, posters and fine art prints. Cost includes use of open studio hours for outside of class work time. Material list will be provided, some materials included. What is Printmaking?

Wednesdays, February 17– March 31, 6-8:30pm

This is an introduction class of a whole platter of printing techniques that can be used in combination to create unique prints. Focus will be on layering different techniques, exploration, and fun! Demonstrations on intaglio, monoprinting, relief, paper litho, and stencils will be covered. Students will be encouraged to experiment with various ways of printing from multiple surfaces and combining techniques. Materials list will be provided. Some materials included. Mixed Level Silkscreening

All silk screeners, at any level are welcome! Enjoy being part of a community of silk screeners to discuss ideas, learn new techniques and work on individual projects.
