INTRO TO B&W FILM AND THE DARKROOM

Tuesday, July 8–August 26, 6:30-8:30pm
Make photographic prints in the darkroom! Learn how to properly expose black and white film, process film into negatives and learn how to make prints. By the end of the class, students will be ready to use the darkroom independently as community darkroom members. Please bring an empty manual 35mm camera to the first class. (Class Code: 821217-1)

INTRO TO 35MM FILM/DIGITAL SLR CAMERA

Wednesday, July 9–August 13, 6:30 – 8:30pm
Explore the basic workings of the manual 35mm film or digital SLR camera and learn how to take exciting photographs. Learn photography basics including: f-stops, shutter speeds, film exposure, composition, lens choices, film types, and how to professionally present work. Please bring an empty 35mm film or digital SLR camera and owner’s manual to the first class.

NEW! INTRO TO ADOBE LIGHTROOM

Tuesdays, August 5–26, 6:30–8:30pm
Upload, edit and print photographs in this comprehensive digital imaging workshop. Students working with film will have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art Epson and Nikon film scanners. Fine-tuning tone and contrast, color adjustments and color calibration will also be covered. This class is great for photographers who’d like to make archival prints on gallery quality paper! Come share and receive feedback on what you are working on photographically and see what other photographic artists in the community are doing in a supportive, discussion based critique session. Please bring 1-4 examples of your work. Participants with all levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to attend!
